Why is it so hard for posters on here to realise that the implant rate will not rise until the number of participating centres increase substantially.
The ongoing trials are only a means to an end, which is to achieve FDA approval and hence fully commercialise in the USA.
As shown in previous posts transplants are still only averaging about 23 a month, the reason being is that is all the participating centres can achieve.
VCR are still having trouble outside the USA in selling their product as the number of participating centres are small and it seems the uptake is not as expected.
Maybe thats due to a lack of reinbursement or maybe the interest is not there.
Dont forget its been commercial in Europe and Australia for some months now and sales are pathetic considering how much of these populations must die from heart failure.
So it begs the question..why not more sales?
All those sinister theories about driving the SP down are just that...conspiracy theories!!!
We hear how big the market out there is for LVAD's yet the medical profession seem slow in the uptake of the idea.
I mean if it was a cure for cancer the uptake would be swift.
Although i have held off and on for a few years now my belief in this product is sinking fast.
Some people ask why no institution interest, the simple answer is, why would they?
VCR is not a dynamic company anymore and the jury IMO is still out on whether this company is worth investing in.
The lead times are long.
The progress is painfully slow.
There is no institutional influence to oust management.
The uptake outside USA is poor.
And the rewards at the end are muddy.
Plus in 12 months the spectre of another Cap raising.
That's the reality guys, all the bleating about more news, directors lack of buying and poor management means diddly squat.
What VCR needs is acceptance.
