A lot more people get breast implants than full thickness burns!

Certainly in the United States.

Looking at the stats, there were 486,000 burn injuries receiving medical treatment in the US in 2016. Slightly less than 10% of these burn injuries would require inpatient care. Of those requiring inpatient care, ~ 75% are treated in burns centres. And of those, slightly less than half (~ 14,000) require autografting.

Whereas, in the US in 2018, there were 314,000 breast augmentation procedures, 110,000 breast lifts (mastopexy) and 29,000 breast implant removals. I don't have the stats for post mastectomy breast reconstruction.

Dermal matrix potentially has a role to play in breast augmentation, lift and reconstruction. It may also have a role to play in reducing the high rate and cost of implant removal, which is often needed due to complications such as capsular contracture and shifting of the implant.
