OK Miles, I'll try again with another angle.
Current Camry on LPG = $6.31 per 100km.
Hybrid Camry on LPG = $3.83 (theoretical)
A grand saving of $2.48 per 100km
Say 250,000 km over 10 years and the hybrid saves $6200 in total against the standard camry on lpg.
But here's the catch. You now have to fork out $10,000 to replace the batteries on the hybrid. The Hybrid cost more to purchase new and probably lost its value faster as buyers are savvy enough to realise that the batteries are a potential 10g liability.
Can you honestly argue any of my figures miles?
Once again I say batteries are the way to go, but to appease the oil companies and governments a current compromise has been struck.
A compromise that I argue is ignoring the benefits of LPG.
Surely you being an accountant can see the validity of my numbers which do not take on a political bias?
