Diligent, your whole perception of teachers is based on two rather flimsy pieces of anecdotal evidence. The first, you believe, was just trying to organise her next holiday. So then, what was the proposal for the comittee about? Why did she takes steps to get someone to review it? Why you? Preparing any kind of proposal is outside a teacher's duty. Did she do this at home?
You then go on to write about another teacher trying to contact you in school hours. Why was he trying to call you in particular? Why was he so persistent? Sounds like he was doing his job to me.
You also state that most parents who can't afford a private education spend countless hours making up for the dereliction of teachers. What a load of rubbish. In my experience, most parents are so busy earning two incomes they don't even know what subjects their kids are doing. My biggest bug-bear in my years of teaching was the number of kids who started year 1 not being able to count to ten or knowing their letters. The first educational responsibility of any parent is to teach their children basic numeracy and literacy before they start school. Very few do.
I also note you have talked about performance criteria for teachers. Are you really that ignorant to think that this can be done? Don't you think it would have been done years ago if there was a formula for it? It's just another piece of tripe from low-brow right wingers who think everything can be based on some mythical business model.
You really should stop posting on this subject, because your very laughable pieces of anecdotal evidence (which you have finally stated after many derogatory posts)show you have absolutely no idea what the teaching profession is about.
