A few years before I started working on the deck a few of the younger skippers had a regular morning coffee get together.
The older skippers would shake their heads when they would see 3-5 boats tethered and drifting aimlessly.
Skippers and crew would be on the first boat having a coffee or a beer.
One of the sharp older skippers who was very switched on called up the lead boat on theVHS radio and asked if they had enough people on the boat, to put the fire out, did they need another extinguisher and suggested they should get onto one of the other boats if they couldn’t get the fire out!
It freaked the youngsters out as they didn’t think that the old boy knew that they were smoking pot ( no cream bun shops out that way).
