Why are US trade sanctions on China bad for iron ore price?
Almost all of China's steel is used domestically and not exported and of the small amount which is exported none goes to the US. So US trade tariffs will not affect demand for Chinese steel.
On the other hand if the Chinese government want to boost their economy to offset any slow-down cause by US tariffs then they will most likely increase spending on infrastructure as they have in the past and this will increase demand for steel.
