The advantage is taking the risk in buying these options of which a substantial number are available under the .01 mark. Then looking at how many real trading days are available to exercise (I calculate 6 allowing for admin time) a speculator might bank on more than a .01 movement in the heads driven by some news sometime over this period (which would certainly be in the interests of the company). This of course decision fuelled by the high leverage afforded by the options.
