Pretty safe to say you were not missing anything Kruerrands, this was evidenced by the pantsing Labor just received and rightly so to assume their voter base was dumb enough to fall for that spin, they better learn to change their tune because quite frankly (or franking ) Australian voters just aren't that stupid.
Bloody insulting to lots of long term labor faithfulls to be treated with such disdain, make no mistake it was this issue that lost them the election, or more precisely the assumption that their own voters would not be smart enough to realize they were being sold a con job.
Think about it for a moment, what better way to lower the tax burden on the working class than lowering fuel excise?
The rich are using fuel cards anyway so this would go straight into he pockets of the working class, but noooooo labor thought attacking pensioners was going to fly LOL.
They'd better learn as had the left in general, LISTEN or get used to being a poor example of an opposition.
The minority can make all the noise they want but the majority gets the vote.
