I had not gone that far back in the KLL story.
It looks like the volume of Dampier Salt bitterns supply may be plentiful enough for EcoMag:
“On average, we utilise only 10 per cent of the (Dampier) total waste stream. That’s not to say we could reliably expand production 10-fold because there is significant variability from year to year, but it looks like the resource could support production levels around six to eight times the initial plant.”
Logic would co-locate the EcoMag plant at Dampier, for minimal transport cost and to use the existing, developed infrastructure and workforce.
Trucking 9% HMC bitterns from Beyondie to Dampier for processing would not be economic, compared to Dampier's supply. Pity. Maybe later.
Rio will be pleased at the prospect of extracting more value from Dampier Salt.
