Not fully understanding how it works, can shorts just sit on a losing position and hope the stock falls in the future rather than rebuying as it rises, like we would a long, or are they on a limited time frame?
Or are some shorts shorter term, and some longer term?
Shorter term I'd see how they'd have to buy in, but longer term possibly no need?
