It is encouraging from our perspective to see the refocused BMO generating encouraging results from drilling on its Twin Hills project in Queensland. The company has reportedly been successful in identifying new areas of coincident anomalous gold and arsenic results in an area to the south of the 309 deposit and to the west of Lone Sister.
The significance of the coincidence of the gold and arsenic anomalism is that it can often lead to underlying gold-bearing structures. BMO completed a shallow drilling programme comprising 80 holes on 40-metre line spacings from north to south to a depth of around 70 metres. It was this programme that identified the coincident gold-arsenic anomalies.
The company now plans to complete an electrical geophysical programme as well as a drilling programme, both designed to test for deeper zones of potential gold mineralisation. The geophysical work is expected to be completed by mid-June and will be used, along with the recently completed shallow drilling, to define new deeper drill targets at Twin Hills.
