Hi DD.
The US has embarked on another unwinnable war. And there is no shooting needed. There has been a litany of them since the end of WW2, and either there has been a string of dumb advisors in the white house for 60 odd years, or successive Presidents refuse to listen to wise counsel. With Trump it is both problems simultaneously. China could cripple the US high tech by restricting it's rare earths exports. And that is just a start.
Also the US could be considered an extremely successful empire that reached a peak between the early 1940s to the late 1980's but is now entering a period of decline. The ongoing conflicts regarding the current POTUS and general lack of clear direction of their congress is a considerable worry.
Too much effort is being made to get rid of Trump, that the governing elites have definitely taken their eyes off the main game.
Xi Jinping would be smiling to himself as he witnesses the gradual unraveling of former US might, while China quietly and steadily gains power and political influence. And the economy of the US and beyond, is suffering under a ridiculous twitter storm which is completely unnecessary.
This trade war will have an unfortunate ending for the West, as China will never give in.
