Good initial assay results from Roper Bar just released.
FIRST ASSAY RESULTS FROM THE ROPER BAR IRON PROJECT
Iron values up to 56.6 % Fe
Deleterious elements Al2O3 and P within steel making specifications
Iron ore exposed over an area of approximately 35 sq km
Western Desert Resources Limited (ASX: WDR) (“WDR”) is pleased to announce the results from reconnaissance rock chip sampling at the Roper Bar Iron Ore Project. The project is located approximately 240 kms east of the Alice Springs to Darwin rail line, and 30 kms west of the Gulf of Carpentaria.

• Reconnaissance rock chip sampling was carried out in early May and the results have now been received. Iron grades in the outcropping ironstone vary from 33.2% to 56.6% Fe. Previous rock chip sampling in this area had not reported results for alumina and phosphorus; which are both deleterious elements for steel making. Western Desert is pleased to advise that the phosphorus levels are well below the limit of 0.05% usually specified by steel makers. The alumina results are also within specification (<3.5%).

• WDR proposes to undertake an exploration and evaluation program consisting of diamond and RC drilling to determine the extent, thickness and tenor of the hematitic oolite beds, and to provide samples for metallurgical test work.
