Agree Club_Sharer,
I am directly involved in a line of work that deals with new immigrants. They usually have large families and work any job they can to invest that line of work ethic into their children.
Their children will be the generation that will outperform the current generation of aussie partykids. These overseas youngsters are picking up English at an advanced rate, most are under fairly strict family disciplines, have to budget due tight family money supplies, constructively respond to criticism, produce fantastic results with correctly given praise and have an appreciation for cultural differences.
Managing this particular generation of youngsters is what im preparing for at the moment. The facebook generation of aussie partykids don't like work, are on the constant lookout for the next lotto win, binging hard on the booze and are messing around with dexamphetamines, have a loose work ethic and are treating their parents like atm machines. This will be the generation that will social workers flat out in 10years time.
Obviously this does not sum up 100% of people. Its just an extrapolation of how see where the next generation of leaders may come.
