Wages in the scheme of operating when correctly deployed are well down the food chain off worry. The big costs that that keep any manager that cares are capital cost energy steel reagents and then commodity price.

Playing with someones pay packet is like dealing with the devil. The valuable operators don’t care as they piss of quickly as they are wanted and the disgruntled boys left are not normally the ones you want. It is far better to reward effort and maximise the use of the capital deployed. It does take a special person to run a crew and they still need a skill level to work with.
