Hey NoGts,
I appreciate your justification and understand your perspective, but the non-execs generate income from advising multiple companies.
Though they only earn $30-$50k from FBR, one can safely assume that they are earning >$150k/year. If you were in their position and once you were permitted to do so, would you not invest in a soon-to-be successful company (FBR) to increase your net worth given the information at your disposal? Or would you prefer to just generate interest on this money as it sits in your bank account?
Even if they did purchase $5k shares at the current SP, it would net them a sizable ROI once FBR eventually achieved a >$1 Share Price.
In essence, it shows to the retail investor that they would prefer to invest their money in X company as they believe it would be more rewarding than to simply hold it in their bank account where it generates interest.
