there is still some debate as to whether QFT should be used alone or to confirm a TST+ (US vs EU), evidence indicates that returning servicemen have a much higher rate of TST+ and that as these are QFT- it is suggested that these are false TST+.
The wining argument for QFT are false TST- , without a gold standard this is more difficult to establish but new studies are reporting that QFT correctly identifies all that progress to active TB whilst TST does not (false TST-)
