"The companies that build reactors, cant supply them fast enough. I read over the weekend, that if Australia wanted to go nuclear, they would not be able to build a reactor until after 2020."

For sure about the first bit - based on current capacity etc... but what do you think about the second part of the equation... that we would not be able to do it until 2020?

These kinds of plans are highly classified ya... take years to evolve and are not generally derived at the outset by public pressure? Would you expect that our gvt would have been considering, working towards something of this nature long before now? I mean news from South Australia today is very bullish purporting that Olympic Dam will be the world's largest uranium mine supplying 40% of the worlds uranium, let alone the other 2 approved U308 mines in the area.

Just thinking out loud, but I would like to think that our government would have been much more on its toes regarding the industry than that - irrespective of public opinion, certainly they would have been aware that a more serious look at nuclear for energy would become a neccessity soon enough?

Just thoughts but interested in views. D
