they 'celebrate' staff cuts on established/'made' moat businesses because short term it increases profits and freecashflow- and big businesses often have moats that mean they dont even suffer long term from reduction in staffing.
and ofc sometimes its cuts to staff simply because theyve found ways to be productive and do more with less
celebrate it on huge cash burning growth stocks like uber etc that have proven major scale/reach of offering - because they get tired of $bn quarterly losses
they dont celebrate staff cuts on tiny 'growth' stocks that have yet to make it - becuase the staff are needed to achieve growth
v sad to hear @kymat's remarks. there is a very deep price paid for all this and it isnt paid by those who should foot the bill
