The one thing that amazed me all those years ago with the first Gulf War (hope that is the right title) was the absolute ease with which the US walked over Iraq. After listening to the media beat up about how bad it was all going to be they just marched in and the war was over.
The US is a real Super Power unlike the former USSR which was very over hyped. China will not come close to ever challenging them I think. Mind you that is not to say they won't be a major power and no one in their right mind would invade China itself, but nothing is a patch on the US.
I make this point only because that is the truly frightening thing in my mind. They have become so powerful in their role as the “world’s watchdog” for lack of a better term, the problem has becomes who is going to watch the watch dog? Really amazing times we live in at the moment.
