Das hier gelentlich erwähnte "Tax-loss selling" scheint übrigends durchaus beachtenswert.

    Aus tradingroom.com.au von heute (25.06.08):

"Mr Knight said many stocks across all sectors were lower today probably as a result of tax-loss selling."

    Und aus cmcmarketsstockbroking.com.au/trading/clients/tax-loss-selli…

"Tax-loss selling is the practice of selling stocks prior to June 30 that have lost investors money over the course of the financial year. Sales take place to offset capital gains and lower one's tax liability.

Knowledge of this seasonal effect is important because prices in stocks likely to come in for tax loss selling can be expected to be weaker as a result.

The probability of lower prices means:

    1. Current owners can expect their stocks to come in for selling pressure
    2. Potential owners can expect lower prices in the lead up to June 30"

Wie es funktioniert? Aus abc.net.au/businessbreakfast/content/2002/s585331.htm vom 21.06.2002:

"DAVID REES, INVESTMENT STRATEGY, COMMONWEALTH BANK: This is the time of year when a lot of people do take a look at their portfolios.

They may consider some that shares have under performed.

This is a time when it may be possible to sell those shares and to benefit from a taxation point of view.

KAREN PERCY: It is called tax loss selling and here's generally how it works.

Let's say that you brought 1,000 shares at $1 a piece a year ago.

If those same shares are only worth 75 cents each now, that means your investment of $1,000 is now worth only $750.

So you could sell the shares and use the $250 loss to offset the tax that you'd have to pay on any capital gains, but it is imperative that you have gains."
