Hey gang.
I have just received a response from the department of primary industry and resources. As it is private correspondence I won’t say who or what their position is, but here was their response:
“ML31726 gives the titleholder (Lithium Developments (Grants NT) Pty Ltd) the exclusive right to conduct mining for minerals within the title area, therefore they will not need to apply for a new mineral lease for other resources found within the boundaries of ML31726.”
So it would seem Grants, Carltons, current Hang Gong, potential Far West and anything else found within ML31726 can all be mined under the Grants mineral lease
I was told they will get back to me ASAP re my second question which was: does/would the EIS and environmental approvals cover just the Grants mining area, or the overall project area of ML31726.
I am assuming the EIS would cover the entire project area (ML31726). If so, then you would think no extra enviro approvals needed for Carltons and current Hang Gong.
will post their response once received.
