My old man was enlisted to go to Vietnam but was then knocked back because he was an only child and a copper! But his best mates verne and lenny served,, both returned, verne stayed in the army for thirty years, lenny returned to the coppers, worked with dad for the next 3 decades, until medically unfit, dad ended up retiring from the coppers a chief inspector with 40 years service, they're all gone now, the grog you see, the bloody grog... he was my best mate dad....he was the best...
