will proposed shareholder letter be unhelpful

your comments below about centro having nothing conclusive to disclose right now were echoed in a discussion i had today with the head of investor relations at centro (jackie).

centro will be well aware of (...if not hyper-sensitive to) its legal duty of disclosure.

one would expect that if the shareholder letter was to include material matters of concluded substance (....rather than aspirational shareholder relations pap), then it would be in the form of an announcement in accordance with the disclosure duty, and not in the form of a letter.

could the investor letter say anything that has not already been factored into the shareprice?

hard to see how the proposed letter as anything but a "sop" to pacify disgruntled shareholders (punters?) who are needing to let off steam in the face of a shareprice that fails to get any long term traction on announcements, and which keeps painfully sliding lower.

BEGS THE QUESTIONS (prompted by your post):

1 - what effect will this anticipated letter may have on shareprice?

2- how long will any such effect last for?

3 - given how the share price has dropped quickly after recent announcements, will it drop like a stone again after the "sop letter" until there is conclusive substantive news reportable under centro's legal disclosure duty?

the big build up this week over the investor letter might be very unhelpful if all it achieves is ANOTHER PUMP AND DUMP reaction by battered cnp punters, that retests the share price lows, and that retests punter distress levels.

centro - the "watched kettle" that splutters a hell of a lot but never seems to boil?

"I can't believe all the hoo-haa over an investor update. Do you really think its going to make a difference. Is the investor update a white knight that allows the shareprice rise to the sky?

Centro will announce something sooner or later, between the lines nothing will be said, and CNP will be exactly where its been since January, with investors none the wiser as to Centro's future.

If Centro have nothing to upate it means just that, there's nothing to announce. Can't manufacture something out of nothing."
