It's the world economic system that is ultimately at fault.

It is simply impossible to sustain a system solely based on consumption.

The micro winners of such a system are those with the cheapest inputs of production ..... 3rd world for labour etc, but ultimately the world chokes on the waste born of excess desire.
But no-one seems in a hurry to design a better system ..... maybe carbon tax/trading will be the catalyst?
