The auction clearance rate in Melbourne over the weekend was 52 per cent, down 3 per cent from last week and down 27 per cent compared with the same weekend last year.
The Adelaide property market suffered an even bigger slump, recording a clearance rate of 47per cent, 40 per cent lower than the same weekend last year.
Brisbane had another dismal week, with just under $4 million worth of property sold and a clearance rate of 29 per cent compared with $21 million and41per cent this weekend last year.
Sydney was the only city that improved on its performance from last weekend. The clearance rate of 49 per cent was 4 per cent better than last week, but still well below the 63 per cent recorded on the same weekend last year.
