zzzzzzDartboard, the power requirements for Olympic Dam are huge but imo the price they pay for that power is almost certainly not critical as long as that price is reasonably competitive. GDY should be able to negotiate a wholesale, bulk electricity contract with BHP at a similar price to any other contract for the supply of wholesale baseload power.
I do agree that this price should be negotiated before the powerline is built. It would be foolish to build the line to BHP's door without a prior agreement.
