Shorts have no volume to cover: volume has been well above average over the last week and short volume has been very low recently with around 10% of he daily volume. So there is a truckload of volume if short sellers wanted to cover.

On the verge of a monster deal for SDV: GXY's market cap is barely $200m above its cash. So the market is valuing SDV at next to nothing. What company is going to do a "monster" deal for SDV when the market is valuing it at next to nothing. You could outright own SDV for less than $100m if they bought GXY and sold Mt C and JB and its other assets.
