eastlink....the verdict

I went , I saw , I crawled through each tunnel at 40kms surrounded by wall to wall traffic ... on a Sunday?!?
Eastlink is an impressive piece of road, no doubt about that. But the congestion around the tunnels was quite severe, hate to see what it's like during peak hour. Having twin on-ramps before each tunnel entrance might not be such a great idea, perhaps some drip-feed traffic lights might be needed. Then again, the tolls might fix the congestion problem when they're introduced in a months time. Some "Keep left unless overtaking" sign could be useful too. In the mean time, beware that slow moving Corolla in the right hand lane.....
