CDM is trading at a significant discount to NTA. It has consistently underperformed the index. There is no realistic plan to change this reality.
It is simply and clearly in the interest of shareholders to close the fund and distribute the proceeds.
The impediment to doing so is that Karl has a watertight contract to clip the ticket forever regardless of performance. The reality is that he will want go away money.
I respectfully suggest that the independent directors have a duty to the shareholders to negotiate a settlement with Karl and liquidate the company.
