Great theory MT88. A quick check of CCZ's website gives little detail on the shareholders. A powerpoint presentation in Sept 2018 didn't list any major shareholders, but stated that the top 20 shareholders hold 51% and the board owns <1%. So a buyout or merger by Sandfire (or anyone else), would put shareholders in a stronger position than if there was a small group of shareholders who owned a large proportion of the company. In other words, if someone wants the company, then the shareprice will go up as it becomes apparent to the market. Also the minimal holding by the directors (plus their recent problems) means that they have little influence on the diverse holdings of many investors who may want to hold out for a better offer. Amigo, if you are on the money, then 1.6c will be undervalued when they finally let trading re-commence.
