Fibre is essential when you can't heat your home because you can't afford the bills. Most of the world lives in winter that will kill you if you are not warm enough. Fibre crop acres moving across to grain crops. 15% swing in the US this year alone. And the fibre demand will not come for numbers from the world's fashion houses - this will be a functional fibre boom.
Tracksuits, jumpers, thick socks, thermal underwear ... all contain a lot more cotton than a fashion piece. Also a lot more physical work will need to be done by everyone which will significantly increase the consumption of cotton. Its not rocket science and it is why the cotton market is in contango.
