hi Kylie, sorry for the late response (I was traveling and the different time zone is a little hitch too...)

i think large trading volumes without any news may either mean that there is a recommendation from the press (like in the current sunday times) or a broker house or some people think they have "insder infos" and knowing what will happen with the stock in the near furture.

But sometimes it simply mean that one take a position because he/she think the stock have some overlooked value.

Lets wait what we have in the news tomorrow (STX normally give an operational update at Wednesdays) - if there is something unexpected, then we had some insider action ...
