I have posted only once or thrice on the larger of my 2 holdings (CVN) but scores of times on Marion Energy (Mae),my other holding which I entered after fantastic results from CVN and because I could see, after much searching, that the CVN model is "the " one for oil and gas investing. No,this post is NOT about my "other" holding its strictly about CVN. Having refrained from participating in the high quality discussions on the CVN thread I now feel like a post ! In my view, particularly at present price levels vis a vis where the company is at, CVN is a near perfect investment situation. Sure there is the tax ceiling "problem" and some Sovereign risk (you could argue that the tax problem is actually contained in the Sovereign ("investing in far away places") risk ) but I dont see either of those risks as huge. From there its all good news, about to get steadily better. If you want a dose of good feeling about having invested in CVN (as if the rocketing cash flow from quality licences in a country hell-bent on upping its oil production, lack of debt, superb management,A1 communication levels, avoidance of your CVN money otherwise being being in any of numerous poor-performing investments in 2008, the ability to sleep easy and not wake up to a nasty surprise etc.etc.etc then I suggest that you go to cnn
money.com and look for an article headed "5 year oil squeeze predicted". If you are a CVN holder you should come away with a good feeling-many more nights of sound sleep virtually assured for a long time to come. The article quotes IEA ("its forecasts are considered to be the best guage of where oil supplies and prices are headed"). And I recommend watchers to SMILE whenever they see a petrol price hike and to get used to smiling cos things arent going going to reverse any time soon . P.S. Im happy to be in CVN with oil prices anywhere North of $100 so my enthusiasm wont wane if prices take a tumble. Im in for the long haul (and have been since 4c,when I got lucky as CVN at 4c was not the animal it is today).
