The issues with OGC have popped up multiple times in the last few years. They seem to be the company that the government and protesters want to go after. I've been burned once before and decided I wouldn't own the stock because there was simply too much risk.
MML on the other hand has always passed the mining audits the Government has done and never seems to be a target. In part I believe this is due tot the fact that MML is running an underground operation. The public have no real clue what happens in an underground mine. OGC had a large open pit at Didipio (I think now mining underground) which makes the earth moving, deforestation etc very obvious.
There may also be elements of local politics here that I'm not fully across to explain the differences. Didipio is relatively close to Manila on the main island of Luzon which I would imagine makes it more politically/environmentally vulnerable. Co-O is located on the southern island of Mindanao
