Hi sparky. Malawi is very early stages in mining terms and I would not believe there is any previous information available from previous exploration on this new tenement otherwise SVM would have researched and divulged such when announced.
It is purely a speculative new acquirement which will not be a factor of SP until such time exploration drilling proves anything of substance.

My experience having worked as an operator in various open cut gold mines in Australia is for example "cosmo howley - Chinese howley" in the NT. The Chinese previously mined these areas like rabbits - they burrowed down incredibly to depths of 30 - 40 metres as evidenced by timber shoring found when large fleet open cut mining operations were conducted - they only mined visible gold which is an important point because technological gold extraction has come a long way - as with these above mines and so many global gold mines - the gold is not visible - only there in different grades that is determined by much infill drilling.
No guarantee but if the locals - and they were - finding gold pretty much at surface then - well it's a pretty good sign and SVM have jumped in - first in. Another gold mine I worked was a low budget operation - very simple they used caterpillar elevated scrapers - simply taking of the top 3 metres - carting to the mill for processing and produced quiet a lot of visible gold - back in the day gold was only worth $300 an ounce.

Malawi through international expertise and funding over the past 5 years has now completed and logged a countrywide aerial geological survey - it is available to look at on Malawi mining cadastre portal. It also plans - as announced recently to do more data mapping.

Yes the main game is Malingunde which management have done much with in a relative short time and continue to advance at a rapid pace. The rutile needs more exploration - drilling and a JORC before it is a valuable asset but again - management are advancing this new discovery at a earnest pace as well with what sounds like above expected results thus far so management seem to have the midas touch and it's all been through being pro active.
I'm not sure of the new lease details but generally it would be 6 years with a minimum expenditure required per annum so basically management can see there is little to lose and plenty to gain possibly and at the end of the day that's how all mining magnates, successful mining companies started.

I just love managements pro active approach to this new mining frontier Malawi. Julian Stephens has 10 years plus in country knowledge and of course many contacts and management are very smart to take advantage of their position. Not content massive graphite tenements - highly probable rutile and who knows gold and even something else on the horizon.
