I can only speak for myself, that I am not an investor but a speculator or rather I trade on price action and not fundamentals or narratives. I never change my mindset from speculator/trader to long-term investor midway because it's historically led me to losses due to clouded judgement.
Plenty of ways to make money in this market, and one of which you've alluded to. You may be long CVN and I short on the ticker, but with different time-frames and we'll still both come out green. If it works for you, then kudos!
