    G'Day,

The last para of my post to you, pretty much sums up what Col 1:15 is saying.

And just to clear things up, NO I do not believe Paul's writings in the current form are wrong.
Why = based on many other things he says, mainly that Jesus did NOT pre-exist, therefore the interpretation of Paul's words --> firstborn of creation can only be understood to mean, or intended to mean, firstborn, beginning of the creation of God, in his mind/plans where your creation, foundation, conception, begins.
The Book of John 1:15, John confirms this fact as well saying, ..."The one after me coming, precedence over me has, because before me he was".
We know this is not speaking about their birth as John was born before Jesus.
Jesus says, you search the scriptures for in them you think you have life and they are those which speak of me.
Before Abraham I am (was)..........none other than in the mind and plans of God as in 2 Tim 1:9 - Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before time eternal,
Hence the plans of or for Jesus, was well and truly before Abraham was even thought of, never mind being born.

His own purpose = clearly in the mind and plans of God, reasoning etc and we or they were Not around then to be called, given or saved.
Rev's 13:8 truth = The future Jesus was slain in the mind and plans of God from the foundation of the world.
Repeat, foundation also has the meaning of conception, mind and plans of God, beginning of the creation of God being Jesus Rev 3:14.

Mr G and others although different to Mr G, are reading this verse with a preset mind.
