Just a tip for everyone regarding execution of trades: consider having accounts on multiple platforms.

I have share trading accounts with Commsec, ANZ and Bendigo Bank. I rarely use the last one, but have money sitting in all accounts in case instances occur such as today's problems with Commsec. Today I swiftly moved onto my ANZ and Bendigo Bank platforms to execute buy orders.

Same goes to have personal bank accounts across 2-3 banks, with income coming into all three accounts. That way, if ever applying for a mortgage or loan, the bank doesn't think it "has you by the balls" as you don't do all your banking with them (and you can tell them so). It also helps when banks have outages, as you then will be able to move onto your second or third bank to do your banking . If you notice, most banks try to schedule outages and system updates at different times.
