I looked up the companies that have products in the CEC Best Practice Guide list of approved batteries, that then become eligible for the Solar Battery rebate schemes. There are companies with batteries in the approved list that are not even members of the CEC.
This is good as it demonstrates that Redflow not being a corporate member of the CEC isn't a barrier to having the ZBM2 being approved by the CEC. Though they still have to convince the CEC to allow non Lithium batteries in the guide.

There is a draft Australian Standard for Batteries that is to be voted on soon.
Flow batteries using Zinc Bromine are included in this draft standard. Given Redflow are the only Australian company with a Zinc Bromine Flow battery, I assume Redflow has had input into the draft. You can download the draft standard from this URL.

The Clean Energy Council is supporting the Draft.

The Smart Energy Council is wanting a NO vote to succeed.

Hopefully if the YES votes win with the standard being accepted, this will make it easier to get ZBM2s included in the Solar Rebate Schemes.
