Why would it go down like a lead balloon? Over the last month, the short positions have increased from 0.74% (June 11) to 2.43% (July 9) of issued shares while the SP has been pretty much flatline over that time with even a small spike mid June - that is pretty good news as the shorting has done little with willing buyers on hand and not much panic selling and those shorters will have to buy back in - all 1.2 M shares. Here's the 1-month chart with short positions in blue and the SP in grey.
