One of the reasons I am very cautious about participating in INL discussions is because of the invective that too frequently invades the threads. That said, I have found the discussion this time to be quite illuminating because of both the probing questions and the thoughtful answers. INL is a complex story and even though I only participate occasionally, I often wade through the drivel looking for the gems.

The potential application of the Intec gold process to the Furtei ore is one of those gems. I knew from the Intec website that the company was testing refractory ores for third parties but I was not aware of any specific cases besides Browns Creek sulfides. I note the presence of enargite as a host mineral at Furtei. This mineral is similar to arsenopyrite but with copper replacing iron. Although it is an uncommon mineral, it does create metallurgical problems for gold ores. The application of the Intec process for one enargite hosted ore would be certain to open the doors to treating other refractory gold ores.

The use of iodide to sequester gold and reduce pre robbing is another gem from this thread. This refinement of the Intec process may also widen its potential applications.
