It's the CO2 Myth, that is the worry as it seems there are a large number of people who do not understand the vital role that CO2 plays in our well being on this Planet.
For the record, the concentration of carbon dioxide during the great forest periods on this planet approached 100 times the concentration of carbon dioxide that we experience today, not 3 to 10 as mentioned in a previous post!
Plants need co2 and most grow better and faster when they have more. Plus we get oxygen from the photosynthetic process, which involves co2 consumption. Every molecule of co2 consumed provides an equal molecule of oxygen. Now that can't be bad, can it!
The brain dead of the World are trying their hardest to perpetuate the myth that co2 is a pollutant, just because it is emitted as a by product of burning fossil fuels. But this is a process of carbon recycling, just like Nitrogen etc. (By the way every living thing on this Planet produces co2, including your rusting FJ at the bottom of the garden) But, hey how did we get the fossil fuels in the first place? From plants and other organisms that consumed co2. But it's not just co2 that's involved - there is the sun. All these fossil fuels are derived from the sun's energy, through photsynthesis, which results in the production of sugars providing the storage product of the sun's energy. The process of Respiration then comes into play to convert the sun's energy stored in the sugar to be released into a similar energy form to drive the chemical reactions at a cellular level (this energy is similar to that which is produced by the sun).
But to cut a long story short all of our fossil fuels are as a result of the sun through the processes of photosynthesis and the electricity that you are now using to power your computers and lights in your house are mainly coming from a fossil fuel source that may be 100's of millions of years old - from the sun of that period. In essence most of our energy is SOLAR! Isn't that what we would all like!
Without co2 there wouldn't be any life on this Planet!
So help me, there are a significant number of people in this country who are absolutely brain dead!
It doesn't say much for our education system - because we continue to have a dumbing down scenario, ultimately perpetuating the Myth!
