In that case, the electricity generation aspect of this unit is comparable in its utility lifecycle, it's grid harmony (producing AC power for the grid without requiring inverters etc) and its ability to supply electricity for a longer time frame, in a trading NEM market. Lithium batteries are a high power short term output unit which degrade over time, have inherent thermal runaway problems and are not very easy to recycle. Production cycle is GHG intensive also. 14d electrically is not at 90%, but neither are their current gas engines...even without factoring in maintenance costs.
A HSRG gas turbine power plant is similar in that it heats steam from exhaust gasses.
Only something like a flow battery can discharge as long as this unit or a pumped hydro station at the moment in terms of lifecycle, but still at the moment in early stages of commercial development. Promising but yet to be proven over a heavy industrial use timeframe.
