    There is a thing called CHP, it means 'Combined Heat and Power' and the Snowy2 Hydro system cant do that. It cant store heat and re-deliver that heat.

    The efficiency of 1414 systems in storing and providing CHP, Combined heat and power can be upto 95% efficiency, but Hydro can only do 85% on power only. And you cant fit the Snowy River in an Industrial Estate unfortunately. So you cant set up a Hydro dam for smaller scale storages like 10MW or 100MW.

    Unless a Big water tank was set up, but the cost viability of Hydro is generally because its using an existing dam, so if they had to build a massive water tank for the power storage by pumping water into a high up tank and using the gravity from the water presure to drive turbines using off peak to pump up, then sell the power back at peak rates . The Costs would be prohibitive to build a massive tank for the water and set it high in a Tank tower to get the water pressure.

    So by Comparisons to Snowy2 and Hydro systems vs 1414 systems, then Snowy Hydro wins if a dam and a snowy river is right there, but 1414 wins if its in any other part of the World needing energy storage that dosnt have the water or the river or the dam nearby to make it viable,
