This economic devastation is to waste funds on the futile efforts proposed to lower emissions of carbon dioxide in the face of a number of contra indications.
1 The content of CO2 in the atmosphere is 388 ppm, which is an increase from 270 ppm.
2. Despite this increase there has been no increase in global temperature since 1998, our hottest year.
3 The total net warming over 100 years was 6 tenths of a degree. A negligible increase.
4. Temperature has fluctuated over the last 100 years, and there have been recent drops of 9 tenths of a degree, i.e. to 3 tenths of a degree below the net warming for the last 100 years.
5. No detrimental effects have been demonstrated in respect of the small amount of warming or the increase in the very small CO2 content of our atmosphere.
6. Benefits from the increase in CO2 have been demonstrated, in forest regrowth, crop increases, and even some greening of the Sahara. A greater CO2 content would have greater benefits. The antipathy to CO2 is based on unsubstantiated assertions that it contributes to global warming. What is substantiated is that there has been no warming for 10 years, despite increased CO2.
7. Indications from the past is that warming was beneficial. It has been warmer in the past, in times of great prosperity.

Why should we be taxed to prevent emissions of a gas which is beneficial to all life forms on Earth?
