The Ray Williams of this world are all too often seen as untouchables. They have the money and the solicitors to get off. Baby faced Adler stole $10M. He didn't pay tax on hit. His punishment was that he had to pay a fine of $100,000. That amount wouldn't even cover the tax. He stole money and a lot of it. He should be in jail. But he has a system corrupt to the core to protect him.
I could name a who's who in corporate Australia (not to mention Political Australia), , of those who have stolen large sums. but liable laws prevent me.
Its no good to say, well we should speak out about it. Each and every instance of this type of behaviour means finding cash for a solicitor to fight in a Court, with a less than equal chance of success. WHo has got that type of energy, time and money. We just put up with the system as it is and hope that the regulators in power exercise that power for the good of the common man.
