Thanks for the responses - but I’m still not quite getting the logic.
Redb1 - So Paterson’s last week work out how many shares they can grab - ring up some large institutions as you say - “have I got a deal for you” - we get em for 8.5c - SP is looking shaky at 9.2c. Large Institutions know a good deal and say hell yeah. Surely someone at a large institution then loses their job at some stage this week?
Ausheads - Thanks for the link - they don’t have a great recent history - I read a bit about it in the Fin review article. But are they that dysfunctional that they would commit to a CR that is according to Gekko going to see the SP at 5c. Sounds like they desperately need something to stick.

You guys could well be right - I’m just trying to understand the machinations.
