Mate of mine recently put me onto UIPath, he is certified with them, so that is I have looked at so far (It's free). I'll check out winautomation though as well.
How do you envisage you will start your automation journey? For me I think the biggest part is the back testing, and then after that I'd like to look at setting up some automation around analyzing results. Trading Fx there are a lot of markets and time frames to test, so it can be pretty high volume repetitive stuff, as I am sure is the same in your world.
