Tonnes of Victorian recyclables headed to landfill as SKM shuts gate
Recyclable waste from more than 30 Victorian local council areas could be headed straight to landfill, after embattled recycling company SKM told them it will no longer accept their waste.
The announcement means recyclable materials put into yellow-lid bins by ratepayers in dozens of Victorian councils may not be recycled at all.
SKM processes recycling for 33 local councils across Victoria.
